About This Role

As the Paid Search (SEM) Manager, you will be responsible for leading our PPC campaigns across both Google & Microsoft Ads. This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of search engine marketing, keyword strategy, and data analytics to drive campaign performance and achieve optimal ROI. You will actively oversee the creation, execution, and optimisation of all paid search initiatives. This is an evolving role and has the opportunity to hire and lead a team going forward.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Campaign Strategy and Management
  • Develop, implement, and manage Google & Microsoft Ads campaigns across a wide range of industries.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and audience targeting to optimise campaign performance.
  • Create compelling ad copy and review landing pages to enhance conversion rates.

2. Performance Analysis and Reporting

  • Monitor and analyse campaign performance metrics, including key performance indicators such as CTR, CPC, CPA, and ROI.
  • Generate detailed performance reports and provide actionable insights to clients.
  • Utilise Google Analytics and other tools to track, measure and report campaign effectiveness.

3. Budget Management

  • Allocate and manage advertising budgets effectively to maximise ROI.
  • Perform regular budget pacing and bid adjustments to optimise spend.

4. Optimisation and Testing

  • Continuously optimise campaigns through A/B testing, bid adjustments, and ad variations.
  • Implement best practices for ad placement, targeting, and bidding strategies.

5. Client Communication and Collaboration

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to discuss campaign progress and performance.
  • Provide recommendations for campaign improvements and address client inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including account management, SEO, content, and design, to align strategies.

6. Stay Updated with Industry Trends

  • Keep abreast of the latest Google Ads features, updates, and industry trends.
  • Implement innovative strategies to stay ahead of the competition.

7. Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all campaigns comply with Google Ads policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain high-quality standards and avoid policy violations.

Your Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Paid Search Manager or similar role in a digital marketing agency.
  • High Proficiency in Google & Microsoft Ads, Google Analytics (GA4) and other PPC tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit and fun collaborative team.
  • Certification in Google Ads and Google Marketing Platform.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5+ years experience with Paid Search (Google Ads and Microsoft Ads)
  • Strong understanding of Google Search, SA360, YouTube, Display, and PMAX campaigns
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of SEM specialists
  • Passion for all things Search Engine Marketing
  • Proficiency with Google Ads Editor and Microsoft Ads Editor
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for data interpretation
  • Experience with financial data, media plan forecasting, and budgeting
  • Strategic thinker with a client-centric approach to problem-solving
